Student Programs

PTA partners with Baroody to provide in-person enrichment classes for students after school during the fall and spring. Classes occur Monday through Thursday and run from 2:50 to 3:50 PM. 

PTA funds the Odyssey of the Mind program at Abingdon. Odyssey of the Mind is creative problem-solving program where student team members present their solution at a competition to a predefined long-term problem that takes many months to complete and involves writing, design, construction, and theatrical performance. Abingdon's student teams, led by their parent-volunteer coaches, meet for several months to prepare for the competition.

PTA sponsors Abingdon students who want to participate in the National PTA's annual Reflections Art Contest. Each year for Reflections, students in Pre-K through Grade 12 are invited to create and submit original works of art in the areas of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Abingdon students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2) or Intermediate (Grades 3-5).
