Fundraising Activities

Abingdon is an official polling site for Arlington County. And as anyone who's lived here awhile knows, there are a lot of election days! Voters and poll workers can reward themselves for supporting our democracy with a sweet treat baked by PTA.

Join your family, friends, and favorite Abingdon staff members for dinner at a local restaurant, which will donate part of the proceeds to PTA. Past restaurant nights have been held at Silver Dinner and Taco Bamba.

Our primary fundraiser, Read-a-Thon is school-wide celebration of reading. Loved ones and community members pledge money to spur our students' reading for two weeks. Each student logs all the minutes they read or someone reads to them for two weeks. The class in each grade with the most logged minutes wins a cool prize.

PTA volunteers help students and classes move through the photography stations at picture day. And a portion of each order from the picture company (Lifetouch) benefits PTA.

PTA makes back-to-shopping a breeze through its partnership with Campus Survival Kits, a local, woman-owned business. Campus Survival Kits offers prepackaged school supplies that are tailored to meet the needs of each grade at Abingdon. Order online and the supplies are delivered directly into your child's classroom before the first day of school. Not only does PTA receive a portion of the proceeds, but Campus Survival Kits rewards each grade with resupply credits for every kit ordered.
